Freelancers: Why use Australia Freelance Market?

Freelancers in Australia do not like to be constantly engaged in hopeless applications to recruitment agents who charge a large ongoing commission for the duration of the relationship.

Australian freelancers prefer to enter into a direct contract with the client. Through Australia Freelance Market, the client searches for the most appropriate freelancer with 37% of all introductions resulting in direct contracts*.

The hourly rate is clearly stated up front, removing the necessity for further price negotiations. As a result, we generate an annual average of 2.2 projects per active freelancer, about ten times more than most other job brokers... more

*: Average conversion rate. Our most professional freelancers get up to 80%.

Free document from 07.05.24: A Profile of Australian Micro-Business

Freelancer-Documents This excellent paper was commissioned by Independent Freelancers Australian supported by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and undertaken by Monash University. The aim of the research was to develop a better understanding of the independent freelancer/ micro business owner/ self employed sector in Australia. They rightfully argue that a better understanding is crucial for anyone wanting to interact within such a complex sector. They suggest that the responses of this group to current and future economic situations will be a critical litmus test for the whole of society. Moreover the success or otherwise of this group has direct implications for the collection of taxes, for the repayment of loans, and via a traditional 'multiplier effect' there may be implications for many larger businesses.
